I’d been looking through NYPL’s Digital Gallery for class (I’m doing a magazine spread on Art Nouveau) when I found this collection of Lewis Wickes Hine’s photos. He documented child labor, Ellis Island Immigrants, working and domestic conditions in America between 1905-1938. These photos are beautiful because they are a dark part of our history.
