Bowerbirds
The Bowerbirds have put out an absolutely amazing stop-motion music video for their song “In Our Talons”. The video and song have a common, strong message that sank right into my heart. Thank you for sharing the video Brian!

I’m Thinking of You…
… you know who you are and this video/song is for you but I liked it so much that I thought I’d share with the whole class. This is a really beautiful song and video, I think I could listen to this all morning. The video reminds me of a Grimm’s fairy tale (I’ve been reading from a giant book of Grimm’s every night all summer to put little girls to sleep… there’s something about falling in love then being turned into a giant and then waking up to find your sweetheart in a forest growing out of your chest that makes sense to little kids and puts them to sleep).

Minilogue
Minilogue is a Swedish band with nice electronic music and absolutely fantastic music videos. I’d seen the video for their song Hitchhiker’s Choice a long time ago and I hadn’t realized at the time that it is a music video. I just liked the idea of animating using a white board and thought that it paralleled the music well. Chris sent me a link to a little video called Animals and I loved the creatures that were animated into real environments, the shaky camera and the quality of the video. I looked up Minilogue and realized that the same band was behind both videos! How cool is that? Answer: very.
This is what I’ve always imagined is around us in the bushes, under sidewalks and behind lamps and I’m glad someone else thinks so too.
If you go to Minilogue’s website, they have some lovely photos that you can download for free… check it out.

Bhangra
My friend Shawna took me to Bhangra night last month in Portland at the Fez. (Here’s a little video that roughly shows you what bhangra dancing is like… I’m sure you can surf on youtube and see more too) It was so much fun! Anywho, I’ve been listening to a bhangra mix she made me over and over since then. Well, yesterday I found an Indian Thriller video which seemed infinitely appropriate given certain recent developments. Michael commented on the blog yesterday, asking if I was going to talk about MJ, I wasn’t planning on it and I’m still not, but I am going to share this little video. Enjoy…
